The Passing — Review
Short little review on Left 4 Dead 2's new DLC, The Passing.
There's going to be spoilers, so don't read if you haven't done a play through
While it's fairly short with only 3 levels, it's still very fun. All 3 levels have scavenge and survival modes included. I'll just go over some of the new features
- M60 - This weapon has 150 rounds that cannot be refilled. Picking up an ammo upgrade means all 150 bullets have that, so make sure to grab some. I like it, although save it for the massive hordes in the sewers or any where else.
- Gulf Clob - Like all melee weapons, you just bash heads in. What more can I say?
- Fallen Survivor - The fallen survivor normally drops molotovs and pipe-bombs, although I've seen lots of medkits... I guess it is a bit easier for survivor nows.
- Mutations - The Mutations are a cool new feature, by far my favorite. The Realism Versus was fun, it even made the Jockey useful! They have more planned, which a few can be found here.
- L4D1 Survivors - I felt this quite lacking. While they help in the end, there is very little interaction between the two groups. You can find sound files, but I've never heard them in game.
So all-in-all I found The Passing to be worth the few hours I've already spent on it. It's much better designed and more fun than Crash Course.
